More and more families are turning to cremation. It describes how a body is cared for, yet it also opens up many ways to remember someone. Any service offered with a burial can also be offered with cremation. You may choose embalming, a visitation and funeral followed by cremation, or a simple cremation, and we can arrange whichever you prefer.

At Walker Funeral Home, we understand how much it matters to know your loved one is in good hands. That is why we run our own on-site crematory, and your loved one never leaves our care.

Some funeral homes send families to an outside crematory where no one from the home is present. We know how important your loved one is, so we do things differently. Our crematory is on site, and only licensed Funeral Directors who have earned Certified Crematory Operator status through the National Funeral Directors Association assist with cremations. We cremate one person at a time and use a tracking system so you can trust that you receive your own loved one. Doing this right begins with choosing the right funeral home.

Our cremation center is a space where your family can come together to identify your loved one beforehand, and where you may be present for the cremation if you wish. We designed our facility with care, so every step is handled properly and your family has the chance to be sure your loved one is looked after.

Whatever you decide, please know we are here for you. We value paying respect, memorializing, and honoring each person. Choosing cremation does not limit your options: every form of memorial, including a viewing and funeral service, remains available. If you would like a public viewing, we suggest embalming so your loved one looks their best. Embalming is never required, and it is always your choice. Whichever path you take, we will answer your questions and make sure your loved one is cared for.
