Wendell Adamson
Hansen
Jul 28, 1941 — Jun 7, 2021
Our beloved Wendell passed away peacefully on June 7, 2021, surrounded by loved ones.
Wendell Adamson Hansen was born July 28, 1941, in Benjamin, Utah, to Bert and Mary Hansen. Wendell loved growing up on a farm in Lake Shore. He loved anything outdoors and spent countless hours on his horse riding though the mountains.
In high school, he played basketball, and was very involved in FFA, and that is also where he met the love of his life, Marva Anderson.
He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the North British Mission from 1960-1962.
He then returned home and, three months later, married his high school sweetheart, Marva, in the Manti Utah Temple on March 14, 1963. They shared 59 wonderful years together.
Wendell and his father-in-law owned and operated A & H equipment, a John Deere dealership. He made many friends in his years there and loved selling tractors and parts.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings, including serving in the bishopric, and the high council, but always loved working with the Young Men the best.
He lived for church basketball, as both a player and a coach. He also loved coaching his sons in many years of basketball. He touched many people’s lives through basketball.
Marva and Wendell were blessed with four sons and three daughters. He always taught them to “Love One Another.” He was an amazing example of Christlike love & service. One of his greatest joys in life was loving his beautiful family. He loved his darling wife, Marva, and they are so thankful to have an eternal marriage and know they will be together again.
He is survived by his wife, Marva; and seven children: David (Jada) Hansen, Richard (Melanie) Hansen, Cheralyn (Ricky) Monroe, Charlene (Scott) Martineau, Mark (Jill) Hansen, Marylyn (Ryan) Sundquist, and Bert (Julie) Hansen; 21 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren (and four more coming soon); and his brother, Mark Hansen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Joe Bert Hansen, and Julie Frandsen; and a great-grandson, Brayton Hansen.
