Wayne D.
Pace
Dec 31, 1946 — Sep 26, 2024
A loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. Wayne D Pace, Salem, Utah, passed away on September 26, 2024, in Santaquin, Utah.
Wayne was born on December 31, 1946, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Spencer Lee Pace and Donna Hone Pace. He was one of two other siblings: a brother named Waldo and a sister, Kathleen. Wayne grew up in Spanish Fork and attended High School there.
He met the love of his life, Geraldine (Gerri) Pendley. They were married in Ely, Nevada on September 1, 1970 and made their home in Spanish Fork and later in Salem, Utah. They both really loved living in their home in Salem and always opened up their home for family to gather with them and enjoy Salem days each year.
Wayne was a hard worker and was valued for his work ethic. He made his living working in the coal mines in Scofield, he worked on the building of the power plant in Payson, he worked as an Iron worker at Geneva Steel plant and later in his life finished up his career working for the City of Salem.
One of Wayne’s passions in his younger years was riding bulls. Wayne had a love for animals and he was a farmer at heart. He spent many years on his farm in his spare time working and caring for his animals, Gerri worked hand in hand with him. Another one of Waynes passions was his garden. He always planted and cared for a vegetable garden. He and Gerri also spent a lot of time beautifying their yard and planted many flowers, they always had a beautiful and well cared for yard.
Wayne was known for his generosity and was always helping others. Many times, he could be found plowing a neighbor or friend’s field, sharing his garden vegetables with someone or helping in some other way. Wayne was known to his family as the kind of person that would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it.
Wayne and Gerri would attend church at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Gerri was later baptized and Wayne supported her in that decision. Gerri passed away two years ago and Wayne really was completely lost without her. Wayne’s life was a testament of hard work, devotion to his spouse and family and service to others. He will be greatly missed.
Wayne was preceded in death by his spouse, Geraldine (Gerri); his parents, Spencer and Donna Pace, his brother, Waldo Pace and is survived by his sister Kathy Pace.
We would like to send out a Heartfelt thank you to his Salem ward members and friends for their Love and Kindness and resources they have shown to Wayne at this time.
Burial will take place at the Salem City cemetery next to his wife Gerri. A celebration of his life is pending for a later date in the future.
