Our beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend, Verl Richard Dansie, 66, of Spanish Fork passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 from recent medical issues.
He was born October 22, 1953 in Payson, UT to Robert (Bob) Clarence and Evalyn Marlean Jones Dansie. He was raised in Thistle, Salem, then moved to Lake Shore. He graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1971 joining the Navy not long after that. He served in the US Navy from 1972-1978 on USS Point Defiance.
He met Marcie Ollerton and was married May 27, 1977. They had 2 beautiful girls Kimberly & Kelly but were later divorced. After Marcie’s death in September 1989 he raised his girls on his own and was an excellent dad.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked at Kennecott Copper Mine for 35 years, retiring at the age of 62.
He was an avid fisher and hunter his whole life. He spent a lot of time in the mountains of Spanish Fork and Vernal hunting deer and elk. He loved to go fishing at Matt Warner Reservoir and made special memories with many he loved there. He was a very handy man and was always willing to help anyone and everyone with many different projects. He built many sheds, poured concrete, home remodels, welding-building pipe fences, and building tarps with many family members and friends. He adored his 4 granddaughters and gave them each a number and nickname; brat 3-6.
He is survived by his mother Evalyn Dansie (Lake Shore), two daughters, Kim (Jason) Shepherd (Vernal), Kelly (Tyson) Shepherd (Spanish Fork), 6 brothers and sisters, Kent (Bonnie) Dansie (Spanish Fork), Ed (Connie) Dansie (Vernal), Marlean (Kris) Ollerton (Mapleton), Laura (Randy) Adamson (Spanish Fork), Steve (KeriLee) Dansie (Spanish Fork), Lynne (Cris) Merrell (Lake Shore) and many nieces and nephews.
