Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Steven Alfred Simmons announces his passing after his courageous battle with emphysema, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the age of 66 years. Steve was a lifelong resident of the Spanish Fork area. He attended Rees Elementary as well as Spanish Fork Middle, Junior High, and High School, graduating with the class of 1972. He also attended Utah Valley Technical College.

Steve married Bobby Lynn Cater and they later divorced. He worked in the robotic department of Eaton Kenway, as well as at US Geneva Steel. But, his life’s passion was to drive trucks, just like his father.

He will be lovingly remembered as a caregiver to many. Steve was always busy offering a helping hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by his sister, Debra (Simmons) Adams, of Farmington Utah; his half -sister, Sharon (Simmons) Johnson, of Gilbert Arizona; as well as his nieces & nephews: Amie Spjut, Dustin Simmons, Christy Gerrard, Rachel Nichols, Daniel Adams, Benjamin Adams, and Sarah Farley. Steve will also be fondly remembered by his many friends, who so lovingly cared for him. He was preceded in death by his father, Dell Ben Simmons; mother, Norma (Nelson) Simmons; as well as his brother,  Douglas Ben Simmons; and a niece, Becky Jo Simmons.

A Memorial Service in memory of  Steven will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 5:00 p.m., at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, Utah. Steven will be interred at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
