Sterling Cowan Argyle, 85, of Spanish Fork, Utah passed away on May 24, 2022.

Sterling was born on December 20, 1936 in Spanish Fork, Utah to his parents George Erwin Argyle and Agnes Hortense Anderson.

He attended and graduated from Spanish Fork High School and continued his education at Utah State University, and Brigham Young University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He then furthered his education at California State University in Los Angeles, where he received a Master’s Degree in Education.

Sterling married his sweetheart Marylyn Jones on June 6, 1957 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they raised 5 beautiful children, Brent, Alison, Todd, Clifford, and Matthew.

He put his degree to great use working in various positions for the Nebo School District. He really enjoyed his time working as a Principal at the Parkview Elementary School in Payson, Utah as well as at the Larsen Elementary School in Spanish Fork, Utah. Working with the children brought him great joy and fond memories that he cherished.

Outside of working and family, Sterling loved farming, horses, serving as the President of the Utah Jr. Livestock Show, all things sports, especially basketball and fast pitch softball.

He was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving as the Elder’s Quorum President, in the Bishopric, and all the other various callings he held. He had a beautiful testimony that he held dear to his heart.

Sterling is survived by his dear wife Marylyn Jones Argyle, children, Brent (Laurie) of Spanish Fork, Utah, Alison (Mark) of Newkirk, New Mexico, Todd (Linda) of Spanish Fork, Utah, Clifford (Brenda) of Elk Ridge, Utah, Matthew of Denver, Colorado, 16 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren all of whom he loved dearly.
