Stephan Grayson
Parry
Mar 12, 1949 — Jun 30, 2020
Stephan Grayson Parry was born on March 12, 1949, to Abigail Gurr Parry and Christopher Jones Arthur Parry, in Cedar City, Utah. He passed away on June 30, 2020, in Spanish Fork, Utah.
He grew up in Cedar City, Utah, and attended high school in both Cedar City and Orem, graduating from Cedar City High School.
He was a hard worker. During the summers of his teenage years, and for a short time after he returned from his mission, he worked on the Gurr Farm in Parowan, with his cousins. He also worked at Bryce Inn, where he was first introduced to his future wife, Evelyn.
He served a Spanish-speaking mission, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Miami, Florida, and Puerto Rico. Evelyn waited for him and they were married in the St.George Temple on March 20, 1971.
He attended college at SUU. He was later trained as a Printing Pressman and spent many years in this vocation, including running his own business.
Throughout his married life, Grayson lived in Cedar City, Parowan, Orem, Payson, and was currently living in Spanish Fork, but he always considered Payson his home.
He had a great love for sports and enjoyed attending his kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events, especially basketball. He also loved to watch BYU sports. He was an avid reader and had a huge collection of books. He also loved to feed the birds and garden and took great pride in having a beautiful yard. His greatest love, though, was his family; especially his wife, Evelyn.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children: Brandon (Meg) Parry of Spanish Fork, Travis (Shasta) Parry of Salem, Shawn (Ronda) Parry of Perry, Crystal (Jim) West of Heber, Jana (Larry) Nobuhara of Mapleton. He is also survived by five siblings: Trish (Bob) Little, Karnell (Barbara) Parry, Chris (Mona) Parry, Lane (Brenda) Parry, Pam Thomson, and an additional sister-in-law, Debbie Parry. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arnold and Melton.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. and a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7 2020, at the Oakview LDS Ward Chapel, 3477 East River Bottom Road, Spanish Fork. Due to current circumstances, the family kindly requests that no children be present for the funeral. The burial will take place at the Payson Cemetery.
The funeral will be broadcast live on the Walker Funeral Home Facebook Page
