Roy Glispy, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of ingenuity, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. Born on August 4, 1945, in Draegerton, Utah, Roy was the son of James Ernest and Nelda Dudley Glispy. His early years shaped the steady, hands‑on personality that everyone came to rely on and admire.
Roy attended Spanish Fork High School and later continued his education through Vocational Rehab in Provo, where he developed the technical skills that guided his lifelong career. He worked for Utah Hide and Tallow before beginning a 27‑year career at the Tooele Army Depot as an Electronic Technician. His love for technology continued long after retirement—Roy enjoyed computer work, running small tech businesses, and serving as a computer technician for the State of Utah prison systems.
On August 12, 1968, Roy married Janice Shirley Ivie, with whom he shared a loving life until her passing on December 12, 2002. Together they raised three daughters: Janet, Jenny, and Jennifer. After Janice's passing, Roy found companionship again when he married Elsie Arlene Rowe on May 27, 2006, in Mt. Pleasant. With Elsie came four more children—Ray (Rhea) Fowler, Robyn (Jared) Fowler Hyde, Earl (Jessica) Fowler, and Claudia (Shaun) Fowler Shelley—whom Roy embraced wholeheartedly and loved as his own.
Roy's hobbies reflected his adventurous and inventive spirit. He loved computers, fixing cars, and spending time at the sand dunes with dune buggies. Whether he was troubleshooting a circuit board or tuning up an engine, Roy approached every task with patience, skill, and a spark of joy. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially gathering for BBQs and celebrations.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Janice, his daughter Jennifer Ann Glispy (March 22, 2023), and his two brothers. He is survived by his wife and children, their thirteen grandchildren, and two great‑grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his legacy of kindness, ingenuity, and devotion.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home, located at 187 South Main Street in Spanish Fork, Utah. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment will take place at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Following the interment, there will be a gathering and a luncheon held at the North Park Pavillion next to Costco in Spanish Fork.
Roy will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of family gatherings, and his ability to fix just about anything. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the countless memories he created.
