Rosalie Pearl Dunn Johnson, 89, peacefully passed away on July 7, 2026 at her home in Spanish Fork surrounded by her family.
Rosalie was born in Nephi, Utah, to LeRoy and Pearl Webb Dunn. She was raised in Silver City and Spanish Fork. She was very sad to leave Silver City when she was six but quickly learned to love Spanish Fork and called it home for 83 years.
Rosalie graduated from Spanish Fork High School with the amazing class of 1954. She married Paul Douglas Johnson in Spanish Fork. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Utah LDS Temple.
Rosalie worked for Nebo School District for her entire career. She worked as a school secretary at the Thurber School and at Brockbank Elementary. She could remember all of the student's names and was genuinely interested in all of them even years after they had left elementary school.
Rosalie was loved by so many people and she was a friend to everyone.
Rosalie loved sports and faithfully followed Spanish Fork Dons Baseball, the Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Dodgers and any team her kids or grandkids played on.
Rosalie was affectionately called the Jazz Lady. She loved the Utah Jazz and would show her support by decorating her yard if and when they made it to the playoffs. So much time was spent planning and making signs and gathering decorations for game day. It got to be a real family affair with kids and grandkids helping her out. People would drop by and bring her Jazz memorabilia or trinkets to add to her collection. You knew you were very special if you got invited to watch the game with the Johnson crew. Jazz game days were a big part of the family.
Rosalie was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many callings. She especially loved Primary.
She leaves behind a legacy that she was so proud of and who love her and will miss her dearly. Her children are Steven and Debra Johnson of Spanish Fork, Howard Johnson of Spanish Fork, Ross and Nancy Johnson of Salem and Jill and Tadd Thorpe of Mapleton. Her 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren will miss the Saturday morning breakfasts at grandma's house.
Rosalie was proceeded in death by her husband, Paul, an infant son, her parents, Leroy and Pearl Dunn, in-laws, Bill and Mamie Johnson and her siblings Howard, Jim and Jerry Dunn.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10, 2026 at 11:00 am at the LDS chapel located at 1006 East 200 South, Spanish Fork. A viewing will be held Thursday, July 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork and from 9:45 am to 10:45 am at the church.
Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude goes to the staff at Utah Home Health and Hospice, especially Hallie, Shelby, Camille and Brittany, for the loving care you gave to our mother. We are forever grateful to each of you.
