Obituary

Robert James Rowley, affectionately known as Bob or Bobby, passed away at his home in Downey, Idaho, on Friday, May 17, 2024, at the age of 64. Born on May 4, 1960, in Seattle, Washington, to JoeAnn (Brailsford) Green and James Edwin Rowley, Bobby was the second oldest of nine siblings and two half-siblings.

As a young child, Bob lived in Seattle, Washington later moving to Springville, Utah, then to Eureka, Utah, where he spent much of his youth. He graduated from Tintic High School in 1979. It was in high school that he met Carolyn Fields, and they were married on March 1, 1985. They were blessed with two daughters, Kayleigh and Alicia, the loves of their lives. He worked in construction for most of his life operating heavy machinery. For the last 21 years he worked for Oneida County Road and Bridge in Malad City, Idaho.

Bob’s life was marked by a profound passion for mechanics, NASCAR, racing with his brothers, motorcycles, and SuperMotocross, and cherished time with his family. He was always out in his shed tinkering around and fixing things that other people gave up on. He loved going to his brother’s track, Wild Bills Raceway. He loved racing and helping with the races in any way he could with big grin on his face. He was a great husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Rowley; his two daughters, Kayleigh Rowley and Alicia Rowley; his mother, JoeAnn Brailsford Green; four sisters, Barbara Rowley, Beckie Rowley, Tina Green, and Cody Rowley Meeks (Jed); and four brothers, Billy Rowley (Debbie), Jimmy Rowley, John Rowley, and Joey Rowley.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Edwin Rowley; his sister, Christine Rowley; and his brother, Jesse Rowley.

Bobby’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His infectious smile, hearty laugh, playful clowning around, and curious enthusiasm for life left a lasting mark on everyone who loved him.
