Obituary

Robert Glen Marshall, 59, passed away on July 2, 2026, at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on June 26, 1967, in Payson, Utah, Robert was the son of Bob and Mary Jo Marshall. He was raised in Spanish Fork, where he enjoyed a close and loving childhood alongside his four older sisters. Robert remained devoted to his family throughout his life, carrying with him the steady influence of his mother and the strong bonds formed in his early years.

While attending Spanish Fork High School, Robert enlisted in the Utah National Guard. After graduating in 1985, he departed for basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where he received foundational military instruction and developed a lifelong appreciation for the game of pool.

On April 22, 1989, Robert married his high school sweetheart, Laura Woolley. Together they built a strong and loving family, welcoming six children—five sons and one daughter—each of whom held a cherished place in his heart.

Robert graduated from Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) in May 1990 and began his law enforcement career with the University of Utah Police Department. In 1993, he relocated his family to Ephraim, Utah, where he served the community for ten years before joining the Lehi Police Department in 2003.

During his tenure in Lehi, Robert served in multiple capacities, including on the SWAT team, the Special Enforcement Team, as Code Enforcement Corporal, and as Patrol Sergeant. He was deeply committed to his profession and held great respect for those with whom he served. His calm demeanor, quick wit, and sense of humor earned him the admiration of colleagues and community members alike.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert was a devoted father and grandfather. He found great joy in spending time with his family—sharing stories, enjoying outdoor activities, camping, riding motorcycles, flying drones, and preparing meals for those he loved. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and stability to every gathering.

Robert is survived by his children: Harley (Megan), Robert Hudson, Harrison (Tylar), Hyatt, Hallie, and Hayes Marshall; granddaughters Nevaeh and Delta Marshall; sisters Deb (Gene) Mecham, Ellen (Roger) Gleave, and Vickie (Glenn) Hutchinson; his longtime friend Randi Mueller and her son Kie Binger; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Mary Jo Marshall, and his sister Janet Hansen.

Robert will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to service, his deep love for his family, and the integrity with which he lived his life. His legacy endures in the lives he touched and the example he set.
