Paul Bryce Hansen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on October 18, 2026, at his home in Benjamin, Utah. He was 86 years old.
Paul was born on March 27, 1940, in Provo, Utah, to Julian J. Hansen and Grace Cobbley Hansen. From an early age, Paul developed a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and the simple satisfaction that comes from working with his hands and caring for the land.
Paul built a life centered around the things that mattered most to him. A farmer at heart, he understood the value of an honest day's work and took great pride in providing for the people he loved. Farming was more than a livelihood to Paul—it was a way of life and something that connected him to his family, his community, and the place he called home.
Paul's greatest treasure was his sweet wife, Kathleen Clark Hansen. Married for 64 years, they were best friends and deeply in love for 70 years. Their relationship was built on a lifetime of love, friendship, shared experiences, and commitment to one another. Kathleen was his companion through life's many seasons, and the life they built together was one of Paul's greatest accomplishments. Their enduring love was a beautiful example to their family and all who knew them.
Together, Paul and Kathleen raised two children, Clay J. Hansen and Michelle Hansen Finch, creating a family that would continue to grow and bring them joy through 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Paul took great pride in his family and the generations that followed him. His love was reflected in the life he worked so hard to provide, the lessons he shared, and the memories he created with those closest to him.
To those who knew him, Paul was more than a farmer. He was a source of wisdom, strength, and countless fun memories. He taught those around him the importance of perseverance, kindness to his fellow man, and working hard so you can sleep well at night. These were lessons he lived by, and they became part of the legacy he leaves with those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Paul was a hardworking, dependable, and caring man who could be counted on when something needed to be done or someone needed a helping hand. He found satisfaction in working hard, taking care of what was entrusted to him, and doing things the right way. His love for his family was evident in the many ways he worked, provided, taught, and showed up for them throughout his life.
Paul's greatest joys were found in the life he shared with Kathleen and the family they built together. The laughter, stories, hard work, and everyday moments they shared will remain treasured memories for those who loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, kindness, devotion, and a deep love for his family and the land.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Julian J. and Grace Cobbley Hansen; his sister, Jena V. Zimmerman; his brother, Fred Hansen; and his daughter-in-law, Dena Hazel Hansen.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Kathleen Clark Hansen; his son, Clay J. Hansen; his daughter, Michelle Hansen (Evan) Finch; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Paul's love for his family and the life he built will never be forgotten. Though his absence will be deeply felt, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will live on in the hearts of his family and friends for generations to come.
