Nancy Lee Little Ahrens, 76, passed away on July 18, 2022. Nancy was born to loving parents, Eleanor and C.W. Little, Jr. on May 10, 1946 in Crowley, Louisiana. Her early childhood was spent in Baltimore, Maryland and Princeton, New Jersey. She spent her later childhood and teen years in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin where she graduated from Wauwatosa East High School in 1964. Nancy attended the University of Colorado for 2 years and then transferred to Brigham Young University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 1969.

Nancy was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 19. Shortly thereafter, she met the love of her life, Glenn Ahrens, and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on December 19, 1968. During their more than 53 years together, they became the parents of 4 wonderful children and the grandparents of 18 amazing grandchildren. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first.

Nancy shared her compassionate spirit with others in many different ways throughout her life. The highlights of her career include working for 8 years as a case manager for United Cerebral Palsy where she helped people with disabilities, as well as working for an adoption agency. She served diligently in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life including Stake Social Services Committee, Stake and Ward Roadshow Director, Stake Young Women’s President, Relief Society President, and Relief Society Activities Committee.

Nancy was an incredible woman of many talents. She was empathetic, charitable, saw the good in others, and was a great listener who many would seek advice from. She had a flair for creativity in writing and directing roadshows, writing poems and songs, planning parties for holidays and grandchildren, decorating, and making beautiful jewelry and crafts. She was a sentimental and thoughtful gift giver. She enjoyed listening to the Tabernacle Choir and attending their Christmas concerts as well as watching classic movies. She was a great cook and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a true disciple of Jesus Christ and loved to share her testimony of Him with others. She was a woman who showed remarkable faith and resilience throughout her life.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Glenn, and her children Liz Gibby (Brian), Mark Ahrens (Bre), Catherine Brinkerhoff (Greg), daughter-in-law Julie Ahrens, 18 grandchildren, and 4 siblings, and was preceded in death by her son David Ahrens and 3 siblings.
