Obituary

Our hearts are broken with the unexpected passing on May 31, 2025,  of a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and baseball coach, Michael Lynn Warner. Mike, as he was known to most, was born in Provo, Utah, on July 19, 1953, to Ronald Lynn Warner and JoAnn Pennington Warner, the oldest of four children. He grew up in Springville, graduating from Springville High School- Class of 1971. He played on the high school baseball team, a proud Red Devil.

Mike married LuAnn Garrett in Springville, Utah on September 10, 1971; later sealed together in the  Provo Utah Temple on May 9, 1987. They raised their four children, Scott, Hank, Wendy, and Katie in  Payson, Utah.

Mike worked at Heckett Engineering in Orem, Utah, where he began as a laborer, then advanced through various positions, and finished as a superintendent. He was a valued employee, retiring after 30 years.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in various and numerous callings.

Mike enjoyed anything outdoors: fishing, hunting, camping, and boating at Lake Powell; as well as playing, watching, and coaching baseball. He always was supporting his kids and grandkids in each of  their different activities. Mike had a great sense of humor and lived to make others laugh. He loved his Mountain Dew!

He is survived by his eternal sweetheart, LuAnn; and their children: Scott (Franci) Warner, Blanchard, OK; Hank (Natalie) Warner, North Salt Lake, UT; Wendy (Wesley) Peay, Chandler, AZ; and Katie  (Jared) Nielson, Payson, UT. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren as well as 16 great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his father, Ronald Warner of Spanish Fork, UT; brother, Pat (Micheli) Warner of Mapleton, UT; sister, Julie Warner of Cedar City, UT; brother-in-law, Cory Allen; along with many nieces and nephews who thought their Uncle Mike was pretty cool. Mike is preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn; his sister, Keri Allen; and his in-laws, Alma and Norma Garrett.
