Michael Lynn Dodds, age 73, passed away on August 31, 2025, in Payson, Utah. Michael was the son of Ervin Dodds and Eva Helen Taylor, born on August 20, 1952. He was one of eight children and was a lifelong resident of Payson. He attended Payson High School.

He worked at what was formally called Swenson Metals now Western Metals Recycling for thirty-plus years before retiring. Michael was an outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. He spent much of his free time at Utah Lake or up Payson Canyon. He loved family barbecues, spending time and having fun with his children and grandchildren, and visiting with friends. Michael was very smart and could fix anything and was always first to offer his help.

Michael is survived by his three children: Wade Lynn Dodds, Jeffery Roy (Chrisenda) Dodds, and Michelle Lillie (Ruston) Stevenson; four grandchildren, ChaNieca J’kelle (Nicole) Drake, Cody Jack (Lexi) Welch, Tyson Wade (Zoey) Dodds, and Izzy Jean Dodds; great-grandchildren, Jameson Rae Oryall, Lincoln Gene Oryall, Robin Rebecca-Lynn Welch, and Rowyn Richard-Lee Welch with two on the way; siblings, James (Cindy) Dodds, Dennis (Faye) Dodds,  Allen Dodds, and Marie Young. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Darrell Scott, Randy Lee, and Roy David Dodds.

Michael was a man of few words, but his kindness and love were apparent to all those he encountered. He will be missed greatly. A celebration of life in his honor will be held at a later date.
