Linda Beth
Winget
Nov 30, 1944 — May 16, 2024
Linda Beth Winget, age 79, peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in Payson, Utah. Linda was born to Jason Valentine and Emma Beth Nordgren on November 30, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah and was one of six children.
Her family moved to Monroe, Utah where she attended school and graduated from South Sevier High School. She attended college at Southern Utah University and Brigham Young University-Hawaii.
Linda married Robert N. Winget on August 21, 1964, in the Manti Utah Temple. They were blessed with seven wonderful children. Linda’s greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother. She cared for her family and enjoyed canning, cooking, needlecrafts, and sewing. Linda appreciated reading a good book and was an accomplished pianist and organist.
She was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader through the years. Linda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served in many callings that included ordinance worker in the Laie, Hawaii, Provo, Utah, and the Payson, Utah temples, ward organist, and she loved serving in the primary.
Linda is survived by her children; David (Molly) Winget of Hong Kong, Brian (Inday) Winget of Payson, Utah, Gordon Winget of Payson, Utah, John Winget of Colorado, Roger (Jacque) Winget of Lehi, Utah, Mike (Kahi) Winget of Provo, Utah, and Heather (Jake) Atwood of Orangeville, Utah; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ron Nordgren, Kathy Peterson, Joyce Christensen, and Lisa Hansen.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Winget, parents, Jason and Beth Nordgren, brother, David Nordgren, grandson, Jay, and great-grandson, Lincoln.
Linda was a gentle and kind person to all who knew her. Her smile warmed many hearts and made their lives just a little better. She taught hundreds of young people piano lessons, including her grandchildren. We wish to thank the professional and kind caregivers at Orchard View Assisted Living in Payson who cared for our mom and grandma.
