Kenneth Bert
Green
Mar 16, 1941 — Oct 23, 2024
Kenneth (Kenny) Bert Green, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on the 23rd of October, 2024.
Kenny was a fun loving, joke making, “give you the shirt off his back” kind of guy. He loved a lot of people and was grateful for every person in his life. If he knew you, you were family.
Kenny loved to hunt. As a younger man he was one of the best shots his son had ever seen. Family hunting parties could be up to 14 families all joining together with Kenny lending a hand wherever he could. He helped create a tradition in his family that continues today.
He also loved to fish. He would fish any time and any place that he could. He always wanted to spend his time with his kids and their kids, trekking around in nature or sitting on a beach somewhere with poles in the lake and a lot of family time on shore.
Kenny worked for Spanish Fork City for 38 years. He retired in 2006 and afterwards he truly missed working for the community that he loved so much.
Kenny was born in Payson in March of 1941. He met Sharon Ewell and they decided to marry in 1962. They bought a house in Spanish Fork in 1970 and there they became a family of 7 which included Kathy, Dinita, Kenna, Bill and Jolene. Kenny and Sharon lost their daughter, Kenna, in a tragic accident in 1982. The loss of their sweet Kenna took its toll on them both, though after more than 2 decades together Kenny and Sharon chose not to remain married, Kenny cherished the family and wonderful memories they had created together.
Kenny spent the next 25+ years with Ruth Lee. They created a life that was happy and satisfying to them both. Ruth passed away in 2017.
Kenny spent his last years with Wendy Lemley. They had a lot of fun times and Wendy was with him until the end.
Kenny will be remembered as a truly good man, a hard worker, a family man, a true friend, a dear heart, and the best father. His grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren are blessed to have such a strong, silly, and loving character to look up to.
He is survived by his last remaining sibling, Dr. Gary (Sharlotte) Green, his daughter Kathy (George) Steenson, daughter Dinita Green, son Bill (Olivia) Green, daughter Jolene (Jim) Sauter. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lorna Green, his siblings Travis Green, Lorna Christman, John Green, Roy Green, Louise Huges, and Raymond Green, his daughter Kenna Green, his longtime companion Ruth Lee, his son in law James Sauter and his grandson Wesley Green.
A visitation will be held Monday, November 4, 2024, 10:45 – 11:45 am at Walker Funeral Home in Spanish Fork Followed by a Funeral Service.
Thanks to the universe for men like Kenny.
