Karen Mary
Holland
Jul 6, 1937 — Oct 27, 2024
We bid a heartfelt farewell to our beloved Karen Mary Holland, who passed away on October 27, 2024. She was born to Alton Evans and Mary Louise Haycock on July 6, 1937, in Millcreek, Utah and was their only child. Karen married Thomas Holland on November 10, 1962, in Reno, Nevada.
Karen was creative, her hands always busy, whether it was painting scenes in oil and acrylic, tending to her garden, knitting warm blankets for her loved ones, or crafting unique pieces that brightened up any room. She had a successful career as an insurance agent and was an Avon sales representative. Despite her many achievements, Karen remained a humble woman who found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. As Mother Teresa once said, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
Karen was a devoted parishioner at the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orem, Utah. She found solace in her faith and the community she built around it. Above all else, family was most important to her. She leaves behind her sons, Mike and Bob; grandchildren, Stevie and Cameron Holland; great-grandchild, Caitlyn Holland; great-nieces and great-nephews, Charla Paxton, William Paxton, Samantha Androwski, Wyatt Sanderson, Ocean Sanderson, Shanna Paxton; and Sandy and Kenny Gurule and family. Karen was preceded in death by her spouse, Tom Holland, their son, Chris Holland, her parents, Alton Evans and Mary Haycock, and her sister, Billie Paxton.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
