Obituary

Joshua Brock Fraley was born on December 18, 1980. His passing was verified on October 13, 2026, due to natural causes. He loved his time in Salt Lake, his job, his friends, and his softball teams. During his entire life, Josh was a hard worker, giving service when someone needed it and enjoying the life he had built. He was proud that he had come out of addiction and celebrated his sobriety. Although, he was a man of few words, he spoke his truth and helped others to have a better life. He had a story behind every scar. There were times he shared those stories and times he did not.

Josh’s life began in Cedar City, UT. He arrived 18 days late and was a bit annoyed with the whole process. He had an unibrow scowl which he was known for since birth. He grew up in Springdale UT, and it offered him a wonderful village of family, friends, a small school, an LDS ward house, scouting, softball, adventures, and the beauty of Zion National Park.

He loved to work and tinker and had the only treehouse with a fan to stay cool, which was made from the trips to the local junk yard. He moved up to Payson in 1997, and it became his home base. This is where he finished schooling, making friends, having new adventures, and started his career(s). It was trucking and operating equipment for paving and construction that he loved most.

Josh is survived by his mother Sue Fraley, from whom he got his stubborn streak and father Jim Fraley, from whom he learned all his practical skills. He was brother to Justin and Kaitlin, uncle to Keyana and Dillan, with extended family living in Germany. Also, his Sober Living family and friends who helped him along his road to recovery and assisted him to live a full life. He is also survived by his dearest friends that treated him like part of their families all throughout his life. He would want you to know he loved you all so much. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers’ Wilma Weicht (Amo) and Myrna Fraley, along with many family members.

He is now the family’s guardian angel and our Jedi Master, his earthly training is over, and his eternal mission and journey is just starting. We love you and will cherish you in our hearts as we share our memories. Until we meet again.

We will have celebrations of life for Josh so we can gather, share memories and visit. First will be in an open house in Salt Lake November 12, 2026, from 5-7 at the LDS Church located at 1988 W 11400 S in South Jordan.

The second one will be in Payson on November 21, 2026, from 2 to 4 PM at the Beehive LDS Church at 952 W 1580 S Payson, UT. Parking, and entrance on the north side.

His final trip will be to Springdale, UT for internment alongside his grandmother, followed by a celebration of life. Details will follow in a later update.
