Joseph Richard
Anderson
May 12, 1979 — Feb 20, 2024
Joseph Richard Anderson, beloved son of Joseph and Deborah Anderson, passed away on February 20 th, 2024, in Lehi, Utah. He was born May 12 th , 1979, in Presque Isle, Maine while his father was serving in the Air Force at Loring AFB, ME.
Joseph is survived by his parents, siblings, Kimberly Dixon and husband Scott, Jeremy Anderson and wife Christine and his youngest sister, Susan Poore. He is also survived by ten nieces and nephews, his grandmother Josephine Auchmoody, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Despite his earthly struggles and challenges, Joey loved his family very much.
Joseph attended Niceville High School in Niceville, Florida and then attended Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah for a few semesters. He eventually received his culinary certifications from the state of Florida. He lived most of his teenage and adult years in Florida and Utah. He loved the beaches in Florida and the mountains in Utah. Hiking, rock climbing, biking, and enjoying a beautiful day outside brought him so much joy.
Joey was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Although his struggles here on earth interfered with him from actively participating in church, he still had faith in its teachings, with the exception of coffee drinking. He loved his coffee!
Joey’s struggles lasted for about 27 years and many times we asked our Father in Heaven to let this cup pass from us, to heal our child. But as we look back now, we can see that God was teaching us things we could learn in no other way. Although we are filled with sorrow at the death of our son, we are so grateful for the knowledge that we will be with our Heavenly parents, our beloved child, and other family members again. We are amazed that even as we are filled with so much sorrow, we feel so much love and joy at the same time. God is so good! He planned so well for His children. Heavenly Father knew that giving us His Only Begotten Son, who provided us with His atoning sacrifice, is the greatest gift we could ever hope for. We are eternally grateful for our son and the last few years that we have had to support him and show him that he was and still is very much loved.
