Hunter Duke
Turner
Feb 19, 2001 — Nov 3, 2020
Hunter Duke Turner was a beautiful baby boy who captured our hearts from the moment he was born on February 19, 2001. He tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on November 3, 2020, in Mapleton, Utah, at just 19 years of age. We will miss him every day and cherish the short time we spent together.
Hunter was always on the fast track of life. He began running, not just walking, at 11 months, riding a two-wheel bike at age 3, and reading at age 4. He knew more details about the world, cars, motorcycles, and photography than most care to know. He soaked up information and remembered it all. He loved playing sports, mostly soccer, because the game was fast. He graduated from Salem Hills High School in 2019 with over a year of UVU college credits, then attended a semester at UVU this past spring, with a focus in Digital Arts and Photography. He was an amazing photographer and loved capturing good times with friends and family.
Having a true love for his family and friends, Hunter went to great efforts to spend enjoyable and adventurous time with them. He loved cars and motorcycles, and even bought his first motorcycle at age 16, without his parents’ knowledge. Without a title and with bald tires, it was already sold before being discovered by his parents, but not without some great videos and photos to show them. His spontaneous, playful attitude brightened each day. We grew to understand that Hunter was adventurous and needed to live and love life to the fullest.
Hunter truly loved his friends and spent countless hours with them on crazy adventures, midnight trips to McDonalds, or hanging out in the Turner Garage taking cars and motorcycles apart to add new accessories and louder horns and noises. The louder, the better.
He will be missed every minute of every day by his parents, Kristine and Rick Turner; and his younger siblings: Dawson, Luke, and Savannah. He will also be missed by his grandparents, Karen (Argyle) Harrison; and Newell and Janice Turner; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and great friends. He is preceded in death by his grandpa, LD Harrison; and his aunt, Jamie Harrison.
A special thanks to all the medical responders and everyday citizens who jumped in to try and save Hunter; and, specifically, Mapleton Police Department, Officer McCoy, Chief John Jackson, Trooper Blake Bradford, Tyson Shepherd, Springville Ambulance, and the staff at UVRMC. We are so grateful for your efforts every day.
Thank you also to the many family and friends who have responded with love, donations, and care. We are truly grateful and amazed at the generosity shown to us.
A viewing will be held, for all those who would like to visit with the family, on Monday evening, November 9, 2020, from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. A graveside service for Hunter will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Noon, at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery. Additionally, for those wanting to participate in a final “Squaw Peak Run” for Hunter, following the graveside service (anticipated to be finished by 1 p.m.), we will be driving from the cemetery to Squaw Peak, where balloons will be released.
