Geraldine “Geri”
Spencer
Dec 31, 1926 — Jun 28, 2025
Our beloved mother and grandmother Geraldine S Spencer, age 98, peacefully passed away on June 28, 2025, in Salem, Utah. She was joyfully reunited with her dear husband John “Jack” Douglas Spencer and our Heavenly Father.
She was born to Bert James and Margaret Gough Sanford in Payson, Utah where she and her sister Leola were raised. Geraldine graduated from Payson High School. She met a handsome sailor who had returned from service in the United States Navy, and on August 12, 1946, Geri and Jack were married. They were blessed with two sons, Douglas Jay and Kent D Spencer. They were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and eventually the family was sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah LDS Temple.
Geri cared deeply for her family and worked hard to support her husband and children. She was a savvy businesswoman and side by side with Jack they built a sheet metal shop, sports center, western wear store, a mobile home lot, and two Jack Frost Drive Inn’s. She and Jack were also involved in horse racing from coast to coast.
She is survived by her sons, Douglas Jay and Kent D Spencer, four grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John “Jack” Spencer, parents, and sister Leola Cordner.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Payson City Cemetery located at 400 North 800 East in Payson, Utah.
