Our sweet mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Faye Arlene Penrod Ryan, 88, passed away December 28, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Faye was born November 16, 1934, in Provo, Utah to Lloyd Asael Penrod and Amelia Babera Taylor. Her childhood was filled with both tragedy and joy. She lost her mother when she was only six years old. She loved growing up in Elberta and Goshen. She also cherished the memories of living with her grandparents in Manti.

She graduated from Payson High School in 1953. She loved her high school friends and looked forward to their monthly get togethers even when they were all in their eighties.

On June 6, 1956, she married the love of her life, Stanley Leland (Lee) Ryan in the Manti Temple. They shared an amazing, beautiful life together. We are so happy they are together again!

Her dream was to be a wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved all the memories she made with Lee and their four children. They lived in Eureka for several years and then moved to Payson. They also built a home in Elk Ridge and cherished the friendships they formed there.

Her favorite place to be was with her family. She enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and watching Lee coach Basketball. She loved giving and getting lots of hugs from grandkids and great-grandkids. She cherished all the visits sitting on the deck or out in the backyard. She loved sharing stories about her childhood, her kids, and Lee.

Faye was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She shared her testimony everyday in the things she said and did. She loved her Savior Jesus Christ and tried to be like Him.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Amelia Penrod, stepmother, Irma Penrod, husband, Lee Ryan, siblings, Babera Jean Aitken (Bernell), Oliver Penrod (Carma), brother-in-law, Grant Hiatt, and granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Stevens.

Faye is survived by her children, Christie Lee Stevens (Jim), Pamela Arlene Sloan (Rick), Todd Stanley Ryan (Patti), Troy Lee Ryan (Lisa), siblings, Lloyd T. Penrod (Marie), Allen Penrod (Barbara), and sister-in-law, Debbie Hiatt. She has 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

We will continue to treasure all the memories. We will miss her deeply, but trust we will all be together again!

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 711 South 600 East, Payson, Utah. Visitation will be prior from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah.
