Douglas Clyde Palmer, 86, was born in Walker Mine, California, on January 20, 1940, to Bud and Bessie Palmer. Doug and his older brother, Frank, were raised in Goshen by their grandparents, Frank and Julia Palmer. Doug attended Goshen Elementary and Payson High School, where he was active in sports.

After high school, Doug married Joanne Haskell. Together they had Brent (Pat) and Chris (Jeff). They later divorced.

Doug married Barbara Anne Jacobson on December 12, 1969. They made their home in Goshen for the last 57 years. They had Shane Hyde, Scott (Mandi), Wendy (Troy), and Lee (Ginger).

Doug worked at the Trixie Mine for 10 years before for the U of U and at Dugway Proving Grounds and in the Marshall Islands, doing biological testing where he worked for 20 years until his retirement.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and camping with his family.

Doug is survived by his wife Barbara, his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, his brother Frank, his sister Lorna Gail, his in-laws Glen and Lola Jacobson, his brother-in-law Gail Jacobson, his sisters-in-law, Vicki Jacobson and Bonnie Fowkes, and his nephews, Gary Jacobson and Wade Jacobson.

Special thanks and love to Cierra Loveless and Tia Tolman for their loving care.
