Obituary

Donald Holmes Jensen (80) passed away November 10, 2021, at his home in Taylorsville, Utah. He was born November 26, 1940, in Pocatello, Idaho to John Ferril and Doris Holmes Jensen. He loved his hometown and had many wonderful memories he enjoyed sharing.

Don proudly served in the National Guard for six years. He had a great love for this country and often got emotional during patriotic occasions. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He completed a mission to the Florida Mission and faithfully served in many church callings. He especially loved teaching the Gospel Doctrine class.

Don married Teddie Sue Twitchell, his wife of 57 years, on March 14, 1964, in the St. George Temple. He was a devoted husband and father to Teddie and their three children. He worked hard to provide for his family and taught his children and grandchildren the value of hard work and how to take good care of things. Don and Teddie enjoyed long drives to remote places in Utah and throughout the Western U.S. They frequented national and state parks, and they especially loved driving to Ross Park Drive-In in Pocatello to get a taco for lunch.

Don had many skills and interests. He was proud to say he played softball until he was 60. He was an avid baseball and NASCAR fan and loved to golf. He was a talented artist and Architect; and a skilled handyman where it seemed he could fix just about anything. He also loved Corvettes, his Chevy truck, and being left-handed. He took time to get to know those around him and built strong and lasting relationships with neighbors, extended family, and many friends. He was always genuinely engaged in others and helped those around him no matter the situation.

Don is survived by his wife Teddie, and their three children Jennifer (Richard) Seegmiller, West Jordan; Bret (Jamie) Jensen, South Jordan; Cory (Michelle) Jensen, Herriman. He was a wonderful grandfather to Alex (Denise), Hollie (Tanner), Jordyn, Cameron, McKell, McKenzie, Cassidy, and Cutter and one great-grandchild, Felix. He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Ronald, his older brother Beryl, and his sisters Dorinne Bowler and Rozalys DeNaughel.
