Don Irwin
Bates
d. Jul 28, 2019
Don Irwin Bates born January 16, 1961 to Ronald Lee and Joann Allen Bates, was reunited with loved ones in Heaven on July 28, 2019.
Don was a beloved husband, father, step-father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren, always spoiling them and giving out treats. He made family a priority and always attended sporting events, dance recitals, graduations, birthdays and many other events. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and was happiest while making memories with them in the outdoors.
Don was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He loved hunting, fishing and camping. Some of his favorite times were when he was in pursuit of big game animals such as mule deer, elk, antelope and bear. He made many memorable trips to Montana with his two sons (Justin and Collin) to hunt whitetail. On a trip to Mexico with his son Justin, he was also able to fulfill his lifelong dream of shooting a Coues Deer. He and his wife (Anne Bates) enjoyed fishing and hunting together and made many cherished memories. Each hunt and fishing trip was an adventure with Don, whether it was catching a rainbow at Strawberry Reservoir or reeling in a deep sea fish on the coast of Oregon.
His family will greatly miss him but will always know he is in their hearts and will cherish the memories made with him.
Don is survived by his wife Anne Bates, two sons, Justin (Heidi) Bates, Collin Bates, and three step-children, Tyrel (Rachel) Steele, Drew (Heather) Steele, and Jessica (Trevor) Butterfield, and nine beautiful grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a beloved son Cody Lee Bates, his father, Ronald Lee Bates, and mother, Joann Allen Bates.
