Obituary

Deborah Ann Patterson, lovingly known as Debbie/Aunt Debbie, passed away on May 11, 2026, in Payson, Utah, at the age of 72. She was born on October 11, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, to Malcolm and Alice Patterson.

Debbie grew up in several places she would forever call home, including Denver, Colorado; 29 Palms, California; and Panguitch, Utah. She graduated from East High School and, with characteristic courage and determination, enlisted in the United States Navy immediately after graduation. She was proud of her service and carried that sense of duty and strength throughout her life.

Creative, thoughtful, and endlessly generous, Debbie found joy in the simple, meaningful things. She loved to crochet and craft, always working on something handmade with care. Word search puzzles were a favorite pastime, and she delighted in decorating for every holiday—especially Christmas, when her home sparkled with warmth and cheer. Gift-giving was her love language; she was always thinking of others, always picking up something special for someone in the family. She was also known for her storytelling—whether sharing family memories, recounting childhood adventures, or spinning a tale to make someone laugh, she had a way of bringing moments to life and making everyone feel part of something bigger.

Debbie was a woman of Christian faith. One of her most treasured possessions was a painting of Jesus passed down from her grandparents—a symbol of the spiritual legacy she cherished.

She is survived by her siblings Nancy Milner, Mike Patterson, Laura Adams, Mitch and Michelle Patterson, and Steven and Connie Patterson. She is also survived by 26 nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, and a few great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored.

She is preceded in death by her sister Barbara Johnson, her parents Malcolm and Alice, her sister-in-law Patricia Patterson, and her brother-in-law Glenn Adams.

Debbie will be remembered for her kindness, her creativity, her generosity, her storytelling, and the way she made every person feel loved. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the family who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
