David Lee Moon peacefully passed away at home in Payson, Utah surrounded by his family on November 8, 2024. David was born to Robert Henry and Valera Duke Moon on October 25, 1941, in Heber, Utah and was one of seven children. He was raised in Hannah, Utah. When he was seven years old his family moved to Craig, Colorado where they ran a sheep ranch. Dave lived in Provo, Utah; Cokeville, Wyoming; and Spanish Fork, Utah, before settling in Payson, Utah.

David sang in the choir at Provo High School and graduated with the class of 1959. He went on to attend the Utah Trade Technical Institute in Orem, Utah. He worked for the Nebo School District in maintenance for 27 years and retired as a Foreman. Dave loved working on his sheep ranch. He was a skilled horseman, and he had a love for raising and training quarter horses. He was a member of the Diamond Fork Riding Club and served a term as President. He was also a master carpenter and home builder.

Dave married his best friend Jane, on August 3, 1985, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dave was a father to three beautiful children; after marrying the love of his life, he gained four more beautiful children. Dave loved spending time with them outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Dave took great pride in his yard. For fun, he loved to play cards and horseshoes.

He is survived by his wife Jane; children, Leanne (Duane) Garrett, Payson, Utah, Clinton (Teresa) Larsen, Draper, Utah, Jaylene (Mac) Cook, Elko, Nevada, Janell Pease, Thorndale, Texas, and Amie (Chris) Pittelli, Mapleton, Utah; daughters-in-law, Lisa and Melinda; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; siblings: Carma (Neil) Fabrizio, Bountiful, Utah and Ilene (Brian) Harward, Payson, Utah; sisters-in-law, Donna Moon, Orem, Utah and Carolyn Moon, Hayden, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents: Robert and Valera Moon. His two loving Sons: Brad and Bruce Moon. Grandson: Zacharee Larsen. Siblings: Doyle and Raymond Moon, Donna (Val) Massey, Gwen (Hyde) Taylor, and Carol Moon.

On Monday, November 11, 2024, a viewing will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Walker Funeral Home located at 587 South 100 West in Payson, Utah.

On Tuesday November 12, 2024, a viewing will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. prior to the services.  The funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Walker Funeral Home located at 587 South 100 West in Payson, Utah.  Interment following at Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah.
