Colten Mark
St. John
Apr 25, 1998 — Nov 27, 2023
Colten St. John passed away on Monday November 27, 2023 at age 25. His battle with cancer this last year showed his courage and strength, despite the pain and hardship. He was a hero, and stayed strong through the end.
As a child he loved to tease his 3 sisters, as well as keep them out of his bedroom. He had a fondness for his rubber lizard collection, all things Star Wars, and anything Nintendo. At a young age he developed strong opinions about clothes, shoes and colors, which stayed with him throughout his life. He took pride in looking nice, always wanting new pairs of shoes, and insisting on wearing the color orange most days.
As a teenager, Colten discovered his love for the medical world, and was determined to become a cardio-thoracic surgeon. He took advanced medical classes at Maple Mountain High school, and loved every minute of his time at Weber State University. He continued to go to school despite his medical issues, and was excited to graduate soon. His last school project was giving a presentation about how to survive cancer at 25.
After graduating High School, Colten served an LDS mission in Spokane Washington where he fell even more in love with pine trees and everything outdoors. He served with all of his heart, might, mind, and strength, and cherished the time that he was able to grow his relationship with his Savior.
Colten met the love of his life, Erika, at just 6 months old, and then re-met her in junior high. It was love at first sight, and they have been best friends ever since. They married in October of 2019 and spent every minute together traveling the world, and living their best life. Together they had the most beautiful baby girl, Alayna Rose, in August of 2022. She truly was the light of their life during this difficult year.
Colten is survived by his wife, Erika and his daughter, Alayna. His parents Randy and Camie St. John. His sisters, Cassidy (Zack), Hadlie (Cole), and River. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jim and Bonnie St. John.
Colten will be celebrated on Friday December 1, 2023 at 989 S Spanish Fork Parkway in Spanish Fork, Utah with a viewing from 9:00-10:45 a.m. and a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
A Go Fund Me account has been set up to help Colten’s wife, Erika, and daughter, with final expenses. https://gofund.me/cce23286
