Cody Morgan
Smith
Aug 27, 1987 — Oct 5, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cody Morgan Smith, age 38, of Eagle Mountain, Utah, who left this world unexpectedly.
Cody is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Melanie, and their three beloved children, Tavian, Charlie, and Lyla. He is also survived by his parents, Kent and Laurie Smith, and his siblings, Crystal (Matthieu), Misti, Scott, Tiffany, and Rhett (Jessica), along with many cherished nieces and nephews who adored him deeply.
Cody had a deep love for sports and movies, passions he shared joyfully with his family and friends. Whether he was watching a game, quoting a favorite film, or laughing through a movie night with his kids, Cody found joy in the simple moments that brought people together.
He also had a fascination with space and the stars, often gazing at the night sky with wonder and curiosity. Cody loved learning about the mysteries of the universe and could talk endlessly about the Hubble, James Webb, and other space telescopes that revealed beauty and vastness beyond our world. He found peace and inspiration in the endless expanse above, and it reflected the way he lived—with imagination, depth, and a sense of something greater. Cody’s eyes would light up when he shared that love with anyone that would listen.
More than anything, Cody loved his wife and children—they were his world and his greatest joy. Melanie was not only his wife but his true soulmate, and their bond was filled with love, laughter, and passion. Known for his incredible sense of humor, Cody could make anyone laugh. His big heart and fierce love for those around him will never be forgotten. He had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and cared for, and his presence brought warmth and laughter wherever he went.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, volunteers, and law enforcement officers who searched tirelessly for Cody and offered support, love, and prayers during this difficult time. Your compassion and efforts will never be forgotten.
Cody’s light will continue to shine through the love he gave and the memories he created. Like the stars he admired, his light will guide us always. He will be forever in our hearts.
