Obituary

Christine Gwendolyn Glover was born January 23, 1941, in Sturgis, South Dakota, to Thomas Andrew Glover and Mariana May Schell Glover. Christine returned to her Father in Heaven on November 18, 2020, due to pneumonia complicated by Covid 19.  She was 79 years old.

She married the love of her life, Thomas J. Hannett, on September 14, 1958, in Lead, South Dakota.  They were later sealed for time and all eternity on June 20, 1979, in the Provo, Utah LDS Temple.  She considered him to be her “rock.”

She was the loving mother of Thomas P (Diane) Hannett, Steven W. (Barbara) Hannett, Bonnie Hannett, Lorraine Hannett, Doug (Terry) Hannett, Shawn (Connie) Hannett, and Joseph Hannett. She also raised a grandson, Ryan Hannett.  She and Tom currently have 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Christine is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hannett (who passed away 23 days prior to her death,) on October 26, 2020; and by her grandson, Ryan Hannett. She is survived by her sisters: Tomie Lynn Mutchler and Rebecca McCarty; and her brother, Worthy Glover.

Christine worked for 21 years as a supervisor, trainer and school bus driver for the Wisconsin School District.   She put together a School Bus Safety Training Program and taught it to the children in the elementary schools. She loved driving the school bus and interacting with the children.

After moving to Utah, she worked at McDonalds as the Play Place Manager.  She kept the Play Place clean and tidy, cleaning the inside and outside of the tubes and slides.

Christine was active in her church and had a very strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  She made sure all of her kids attended church every Sunday. She fulfilled many callings and loved serving her brothers and sisters.

Christine and Tom served a Welfare Service Mission at the Bishop’s Storehouse in Springville, Utah.

She was known as “the candy lady” at church.  She would sit on the couch in the foyer and hand out candy to the children after church.  She always had a large gathering of kids lined up waiting to see her!

She will be remembered for her warm hugs, her welcoming smile, and her ability to look for the good in everyone.   She was simply known as “Grandma” by many of the people she came in contact with.

She loved all her animals (4-legged and 2-legged)!  She always missed them when she was in the hospital or care center.

She encouraged her family to: “Stay close to the gospel, choose the right, be kind to all, and give service to others”  It was such a privilege to be part of her life and she will be greatly missed.
