Cherie Carter, age 79, passed away on June 2, 2025, in Provo, Utah. Cherie was born on April 26, 1946, to Blaine and Leah Smith Thomas in Spanish Fork, Utah where she was raised. She was the second of five children.

She married Ronald Lee Carter on February 7, 1963, in Spanish Fork. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Utah Temple on April 6, 1995. They were blessed with five children.

Cherie worked as a waitress at the Cobblestone Restaurant in Payson, Utah and at Stouffers in Springville, Utah for 15 years before retiring. Her highest calling was that of devoted wife and loving mother raising five children. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings over the years.

Cherie took pride in creating a happy home. She enjoyed working in the yard and tending to her flowers. She was a baker with her specialty being Devinity candy. She loved to attend activities at the Senior Citizen Center and cherished the friendships she made there.

Cherie is survived by her children: Kelly Carter of Payson, Utah, Darien (Sara) Carter of Spanish Fork, Utah, Todd Carter of Salem, Utah, Chad (Michelle) Carter of Spanish Fork, and Trudy Jackson of Santaquin, Utah; 20 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; siblings, Barbara (Richard) Lundell and Randall (Sharon) Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald, daughter in-law Rebecca Carter, son in-law Kendall Jackson, and sisters Lynetta Newbold and Marsha Ferguson.

Cherie is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who was always thinking of others.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 902 West 400 North in Payson, Utah. Visitation will be prior from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church. There will also be visitation Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah. Interment will be in Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, Utah.
