Carolyn Keele
Jennings
Dec 23, 1941 — Sep 12, 2023
Carolyn Keele Jennings passed away, and ascended peacefuly, surrounded by loved ones on September 12, 2023, near her birthplace of Spanish Fork, Utah.
Carolyn was always ambitious, and not afraid of any challenges. She raised four wonderful children: David, Greg, Janis, and Lisa. Times were not easy, but Carolyn worked hard and did her very best. In times of stress, Carolyn’s parents, Bill and Venice Keele, and the children’s Grandma Leah Pullem, helped nurture the children, creating many wonderful memories for her children.
In 2004, she and her beloved husband, Paul C. Jennings (of aprox. 49 years) working together, established their dream retirement home in Grand Lake, Colorado. While self-contracting the beautiful home, Carolyn continued working as an esteemed professional at JC Penney. In the community of Grand Lake, Carolyn was recognized for her strong leadership qualities. She headed the “Walk For The Cure” committee. She was in charge of many charities, always wanting to help those in need. She worked on scholarship committees, and was always strong, gracious, caring, and kind. Anyone who met her even briefly recognized these qualities. She generously dispensed fair and thoughtful advice and was eager to congratulate and celebrate the accomplishments of others. Her enthusiastic support could make others’ simplest achievements feel monumental.
Following Paul’s death, Carolyn and her faithful dog, Spud, were cared for by her daughter, Janis and her husband, Don, for four wonderful years.
We will miss her presence and cherish each word, or sweet” kiss, kiss, kisses” along with her signature giggle endeared her to everyone. Carolyn was always very social.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William A Keele, Hazel Miller; and Venice Keels; and her brothers: James Keele, Steven Keele, and Lynn Keele. Carolyn is survived by her siblings: Guy Wymore, Cherryl Hatfield, Barbara Tennysen, Connie Thomas, Wesley Keele, Arlynn Keels, Katharyn Flynn, and foster sister, Jenny Joe Melendez. Also left behind are her children: David E. Pullem, Greg K. Pullem, Janis S Berger, Lisa A. Peters, Michele J Hagar, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carolyn and her husband, Paul, will be interred together in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery on October 14, 2023. There will be a private celebration of life to commemorate this time.
