Carol Ann Marshall
March 14, 1944 – April 8, 2025
Carol Ann Marshall passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Spanish Fork, Utah, after struggling with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on March 14, 1944, in Fullerton, California, to Floyd and Zella Montney. Carol grew up in Pacific Beach, California, and graduated from Mission Bay High School in 1962.
On October 5, 1963, she married the love of her life, Virgil Dean Marshall, in Pacific Beach. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles California Temple. In 1973, Carol and Virg settled in Olivenhain, California, where they lovingly raised their two daughters.
Carol had a natural talent for sewing and quilting. She created countless clothing items, home décor, Halloween costumes, and quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also had a passion for cooking and passed down many treasured recipes that her family continues to enjoy. Carol loved crafting and often sold her handmade creations at boutiques and craft fairs.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carol cherished her time serving as a temple worker alongside her husband when the San Diego California Temple first opened. They were also blessed to serve together as missionaries at Heber Valley Camp in Utah.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Virgil; her daughters, Deanna (Steve) Herrmann and Kim (Paul) Reed; and her six grandchildren — Sierra, Jordan, Mattie, Jake, Mason, and Jessica — all of whom were lucky to spend summers at “Camp Grandma.” She is also survived by her cherished great-grandchildren — Jack, Dean, Hazel, Oakley, and a baby boy on the way.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, who adored her, and her three older brothers.
Carol often said she had lived a wonderfully happy and blessed life — and she truly did.
A private family graveside service was held at Salem City Cemetery in Salem, Utah
