Obituary

Bryan Paul Perry, affectionately known as “B1” by his colleagues, passed away peacefully at his home in Spanish Fork, Utah, on June 9, 2025, at the age of 52. His wife, a dedicated hospice nurse with 14 years of service, had the sacred honor of caring for him during his final days. He was surrounded by his beloved wife, children, and loving mother, following a courageous and brief battle with glioblastoma.
Bryan was born on September 29, 1972, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Paul H. Perry and Sandra Longhurst. He was the oldest of six children and a lifelong example of service, dedication, and quiet strength.

He married his eternal companion, Tangi Jo Richards, on November 18, 1995, in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and love, raising two cherished children: Aiden Thomas Perry and Addison Denise Martindale.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bryan served a full-time mission in Bogotá, Colombia, from September 1991 to October 1993. Throughout his life, he faithfully fulfilled numerous church callings, including Scout Master, Primary Teacher, and Technology Specialist—roles he embraced wholeheartedly.

Bryan proudly served in the Army National Guard from October 1989 to October 1997. He earned his degree from Utah State University in 1999, majoring in Electronics Computer Technology with minors in Spanish and Computer Science.
Professionally, Bryan was dedicated, visionary, and hands-on. He worked at Novell from 1999 to 2009, then served as Assistant Director of the Spanish Fork City Network from 2009 to 2020. In July 2020, he was named Director, where he led with innovation, integrity, and quiet confidence. He also served with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Services (ECS) team since 2008, demonstrating his lifelong commitment to community service.

Bryan took immense pride in his work and found deep purpose in being part of the cable, internet, and fiber projects that helped connect communities. He approached each job with dedication, technical skill, and a strong sense of responsibility. To Bryan, this work was more than a career, it was a calling that gave him purpose and fulfillment. Bryan not only valued the projects he contributed to but deeply loved the people he worked alongside. He cherished the friendships he built throughout his career and considered many of his coworkers as family. Their camaraderie, shared laughter, and support meant the world to him. His legacy lives on not only in the systems he helped
build but in the lives he touched through his kindness, loyalty, and unwavering work ethic.

Bryan was known for getting things done—if you could dream it, he could build it. He was the first to show up for a service project and the last to leave. His hands were never idle, and his heart was always turned toward helping others.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tangi; their children, Aiden (Nicole) Perry and Addison (Corben) Martindale; and his mother, Sandra (Mark) Tippets. He is also survived by his siblings: Mark (Cori) Perry, Talina (Rand) Roberts, Shauna (Sam) Hatch, Timothy (Sarah) Perry, and Joseph (Catherine) Perry; and his grandmother, April Longhurst.

Bryan is lovingly remembered by his in-laws: Carl Lynn (LaNae) Richards, Teresa Carter, Jeff (Kristy) Richards, Toni Gilbert, Chuck (Danielle) Richards, Austin (Miranda) Migliori, and Ashley White. He was a cherished uncle to 47 nieces and nephews who
adored him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul H. Perry; his mother-in-law, Claudia Mae Stephens; his father-in-law, John Carl Richards; and all his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center, 870 East Canyon Road, Spanish Fork, Utah.
A viewing will take place on Friday, June 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the same location. Services will be streamed for those unable to attend. Interment will follow at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Glioblastoma Foundation in Bryan’s name. Since 2005, there have been no major breakthroughs in first-line treatments for glioblastoma. This aggressive and underfunded cancer demands greater awareness and research support to bring hope and better outcomes to future patients and families.

Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Eric Hogenson, Dr. Sohaip M. Kabashneh and his office, Dr. Jay Clark and his team, the Medical-Surgical and ICU staff at Spanish Fork Hospital, the staff of floors 4, 7, and 9 at Utah Valley Hospital, the Intermountain Healthcare Neurosurgical, Palliative, and Home Health teams, Renew Hospice—especially Cassandra Anderson RN, Tanner Marsh RN, and Holly Carter NP—and the dedicated team at Spanish Fork City—for the compassionate and tender care provided to our beloved husband, father, and brother

Bryan lived a life of purpose, faith, and service. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the countless ways he gave of himself to his family, church, and community.

The services for Bryan Perry will be streamed live. Please return to his memorial page shortly before 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 anc click on the link below.
