Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bryan Glen Noorda—our beloved husband, father, brother, Opa, and friend. Bryan passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025, in St. George, Utah, from Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), an incredibly rare and devastating illness with no known cause or cure. His final days were spent surrounded by family, sharing memories and love.

Bryan was born on November 14, 1964, in Ogden, Utah, to Glen and Marion Noorda. The youngest of three children, he was adored by his parents, older brother Brent, and sister Susan.

He attended Ogden City schools and graduated from Ogden High in 1983. During these formative years, Bryan earned his Eagle Scout at the young age of 14, played high school football, and built friendships that lasted a lifetime. He later pursued higher education at several Utah institutions, including Utah State University, Dixie State, and Weber State.

On November 21, 1992, Bryan married the love of his life, Marcy Giles, in Tremonton, Utah. Together, they spent 32 short years building a beautiful love story. Bryan was a devoted and affectionate husband who made Marcy feel cherished every single day—often leaving sweet notes to remind her of his love.

They were blessed with four incredible children, whom Bryan treasured. He was an exceptional father who taught by example—to love big, live fully, and create memories that would last a lifetime. Throughout their marriage, Bryan and Marcy lived in Layton, Moab, Springville, and eventually settled in Mesquite, Nevada.

Bryan’s greatest passion was travel. He spent countless hours planning unforgettable vacations for his family—always trying to squeeze in a baseball or football game along the way.

Bryan was also a dedicated and hardworking professional. He began working at a young age and spent the majority of his career as a respected postmaster with the United States Postal Service. He built lifelong friendships with colleagues who became like family.

Though Bryan’s passing leaves a deep void in our hearts, we will always cherish the memories he created for us.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marcy, of Mesquite, NV; his children: Tyler (McKenzie) Noorda of Provo, UT; Tiffany (Scott) Sellers of Arrington, TN; Natalie Noorda (Bradley Burchett) of Cookeville, TN; Nicole Noorda (Kyron Hattendorf) of Mesquite, NV; and his grandson Ryker Hattendorf—with another grandson and a granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his brother Brent (Debra) Noorda of St. George, UT; brother-in-law John Hansen of Spanish Fork, UT as well as many beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Marion Noorda; his sister, Susan Hansen; and his in-laws, Myron and Mary Ellen Giles.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20th at 10 a.m. at Walker Mortuary, (187 S. Main Street) Spanish Fork, Utah. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on June 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the next day from 9 to 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. Bryan will be laid to rest in the Ogden City Cemetery.
