Obituary

Boden Don Smith was born October 10, 2020 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was called home June 24, 2021 while in the loving arms of his parents.

Life for Boden was never easy, but he was a fighter and was constantly showing courage through hardships. He overcame many obstacles, including multiple surgeries, in his short life; many of which we weren’t sure he’d get through.

While Boden’s mortal life was short, he took full advantage of his mission on earth to teach those he came in contact with. He spent 258 days in the hospital playing by the rules of a book no one else had. He pushed the nurses and doctors to think in new ways, and allowed friends and family to come together, all while helping us learn to trust in God’s plan.

Boden was loved by all who had the privilege of meeting and caring for him. He had fantastic hair and amazing baby rolls. Bo loved mint chapstick, sitting in his swing, tummy pats, snuggling, and having his fan on full blast. If he got a hold of your finger he wouldn’t let go. His smile was contagious, and you always felt special if he graced you with an eyeball glance.

Boden was a blessing to his family and is survived by his parents, Jared and Audrey, his big brother Eugene, grandparents, Cody and Allison Adams, and Denise Smith, great grandparents Jon and Vi Huber, and Doug and Patsy Adams, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins; all who love him dearly. He is preceded in passing by his grandpa Don Smith. Boden’s legacy will be carried far and wide by all those he has touched and who will remember him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Boden’s honor on July 6th at 1:00 pm at the Salem Utah Cemetery (965 South 140 East). All are welcome to attend and share stories of how Boden has helped them learn and grow.

In lieu of flowers the Smith family would love for you to consider making a donation toward a headstone for Boden via Venmo @JSmith-35 or to the Mend A Heart foundation at mendaheart.org to forward progress in neonatal heart research. #waytogobo
