Obituary

On Friday, August 8, 2025, Bliss Larsen Moran passed away in Mapleton, Utah. At 95 years, Bliss was a loving mom, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Bliss was born on December 6, 1929, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Dean and Lois Larsen, and spent her childhood on the Larsen family farm. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1948 and went on to attend Brigham Young University, where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. Bliss began her teaching journey in the Provo School District before finding her home in the Nebo School District, where she devoted her career to teaching 3rd-grade.
During her remarkable 30-year career as an educator, Bliss touched the lives of countless students through her kindness, warmth, and dedication. Her passion for teaching extended well beyond retirement, as she continued to share her wisdom as a substitute teacher for nearly a decade after. Teaching at the Benjamin and Lake Shore Elementary Schools was the highlight of her career, and she continued to reminisce on those cherished years even during her last days.
On June 1, 1956, Bliss married the love of her life, Tim Moran and they were later sealed on September 29, 1981. Together, they spent 57 wonderful years, raising two children, Kathleen and Timothy, in Spanish Fork. Bliss, along with Tim and her family, loved Spanish Fork and were actively involved in the community.
She treasured spending time with the people she loved and sharing stories during her visits with friends and family over a can of Coca-Cola. Together with Tim, she loved travelling to see her granddaughters all over the world from Malaysia to Copenhagen to Virginia. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping, cheering on the Jazz, and playing bridge with her beloved group of girlfriends.
Bliss is survived by her two children, Kathleen Moran (Mike Khoroujnikova), Timothy (Ra Chel) Moran; one sister, Nadene Larsen Johnson; four granddaughters, Madison (Matthew) Kuczmarski, Mc Kenzie (Marshall) Rentz, McCall Moran, Kennedy Moran; and one great-grandchild, Rylan Rentz.
The Moran family would like to thank the staff at Spring Gardens and Inspiration Home Health & Hospice for their dedication and kindness over the last two months while caring for Bliss. We appreciate the amazing care you provided in her last days.
A viewing will be held on Saturday morning, August 16, 2025 from 10:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., both at the Walker Funeral Home, 187 S Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
