Betty Lyn Hull, 81, of Springville passed away after 21 years of dealing with the ill effects of cancer. She passed away on July 25, 2024, the daughter of Lynn and Betty Lou (Palfreyman) Walker. Her mother passed away a short time after her birth. Her father was serving in the Army in Europe during World War II for three more years. Betty was cared for by her Aunt Lucille and her husband Theon Laney, who was serving in the Army/Airforce state-side at the time.
Later her father married Leah Stewart of Benjamin and Betty was raised in Spanish Fork. She graduated high school in the class of 1961, where she made lifelong friends.
Betty Lyn married Victor Field of Provo and raised three children in Orem and Orange, California; Stacy Brereton of Spanish Fork, Kevin Field (deceased 2023) and Shawn Field of Paradise, California. After 25 years they divorced. The family lived in Orange, California for eight years. While there Betty Lyn graduated from cosmetology school. She performed that service for over 40 years, mostly in a beauty shop in their home in Orem.
In 1999 she married David Hull, solemnized in the Provo City Center Temple. They resided in Provo (Edgemont), Santa Clara, Salem, and Springville, Utah.
Betty Lyn also worked at Novell in the security department for several years which included travel in the US and Europe. She also managed apartment complexes in Orem.
Betty Lyn will be remembered as an avid quilter and gardener. She maintained a devoted friendship to many and made thoughtful acts of kindness to everyone. She often gave gifts anonymously to others in need.
She preferred to not have a funeral, so a casual dress memorial for her will be held where memories can be shared at the Walker Mortuary (where she grew up) in Spanish Fork on August 5, 2024 between 10 a.m. and noon. Funeral Services will start at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
